Is a gift card good recognition?

In Recognition and Engagement by Lori McKnight

graph-3-minThere are a lot of companies focused on providing only gift-cards as a form of employee recognition.

While that is convenient for those companies, at CSI we think it alienates a large percentage of the global workforce. What do you think?

I think that what motivates employees, is what motivates employees!

More importantly, I think that assuming a gift card or for that matter some product in the provider’s warehouse is the right incentive for every employee is arrogant.

Why not let the employee decide what motivates them?

I think it is because the recognition companies like the fact a percentage of the employees never redeem the gift card.

We think it is better to support an employee recognition strategy by offering a vast selection of awards and incentives that are culturally relevant and delivered locally in 70 countries at COST.

When it comes to good employee recognition, ONE SIZE FITS ONE!

P.S.
Yes, at CSI International we have a vast selection of gift cards too!
