WFH? Better Yet, Are You Leading From Home?

Here are three things you certainly should be doing:

  1. You better prioritize communication – There is so much uncertainty in our businesses today. Your employees want to know the truth. They are big enough, they are strong enough and they are competent enough to handle it. Make it a priority to over communicate. Make yourself available to your employees. Be sure they feel heard and listened to.
  2. Certainly you better emphasize the importance of well being – Most organizations say their most important asset is their people. Now more than ever leaders and companies need to show it, and your employees need to feel it. Ensure your employees are maintaining a routine, getting enough sleep and enough exercise. Establish regular check in with your employees (daily or weekly). Most importantly, be authentic when doing so.
  3. Obviously, focus on recognition and engagement – Many employees are going above and beyond while adjusting to the new normal. Words of appreciation can help calm the nerves and motivate your employees during these uncertain times. If you have a recognition program, there is no better time than now to use it!
