Recognize our Star!

Bert Johnson is a CSI STARS sales partner, all around great guy and one of the 2019 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Man of the Year candidates. Over the next ten weeks, Bert and 29 other candidates will be spending countless hours raising funds for the LLS, culminating in the prestigious Man of the Year award!

Bert’s history with the LLS is a personal one. He lost his best friend and brother-in-law, Sam Haygood, to cancer in 2011. LLS’ funding of cancer research trials and patient advocacy provided Sam with groundbreaking new treatments and much needed support to he and his loved ones. Bert is competing with his Team AweSAM in the Man of the Year challenge to honor Sam as well as two local children who are blood cancer survivors.

Sam finished a marathon just days prior to learning he was diagnosed. Sam ran 26.2 miles with stage 4 cancer in his hips and lungs like the fighter he always was!
